Andre Onana and his wife Dr. Melanie Kamayou joined Manchester United for £47.2 million.
The Sun reports that Dr. Melanie Kamayou is a successful entrepreneur and philanthropist. In 2016, her partner launched ‘The Fundación Andre Onana’ which she co-chairs.
Pharmacy graduate and former Cameroon international was first seen with Onana at the 2019 Ballon d’Or ceremony. He was a nominee for the inaugural Yashin Trophy (best goalie in the world) and placed seventh.
Two years later, the new Manchester United goalkeeper’s career declined. Onana, 27, was banned from football for 12 months after testing positive for Furosemide. The shot-stopper said he accidentally took his wife’s prescription.
The Cameroon international and former club Ajax appealed, and the Court of Arbitration for Sport reduced the ban to nine months. Inter Milan signed him last summer from Johan Cruyff Arena.
At Manchester United this summer, Onana would rejoin Erik ten Hag, his former Ajax manager. Kamayou uploaded a photo of herself and her spouse days after he moved to Old Trafford. In Instagram caption, she said:The Sports Grail says the 26-year-old philanthropist was born in Paris, not Cameroon. She was raised in Algeria, Cameroon, and the US.
Despite her privacy, she has 11.1k Instagram followers. That following may grow once her partner joins Manchester United.
