Even though the 2023–2024 season has just started, rumors about Barcelona’s new outfits have already begun to spread.

It is common practice in European soccer for teams’ jersey designs to be made public far in advance of matches. For instance, a Twitter account known as “Memorabilia1899” recently announced that it had uncovered the design for the Barcelona jacket that would be sold in the next season.

Mundo Deportivo was apparently provided access to the account where the design of the pre-match jacket could be found.

The style of the clothing is deceptively plain, featuring blue and red overlays on the sleeves and a body that is primarily blue in color.

In comparison, the Nike brand is represented by a silver swoosh while the Barcelona brand is represented by a golden stripe design.

Kit for Barcelona’s next season

The design of the upcoming season’s home jersey was also leaked by the same Twitter user a few weeks ago, and these latest disclosures follow on from those. @memorabilia1899 has been the source of both of these leaks.

This year’s design was influenced in some way by Barcelona’s home jersey that they wore when they won the treble in 2008–2009.

The shirt, much like the jerseys used in the days gone by, featured a pattern that alternated between two distinct shades of blue and red, with the sleeves displaying the same pattern in the opposite direction.

There is no need to state that the design of the home kit complements the style of the jacket quite well, which lends more credence to these supposed looks.

It would be curious to see whether additional users on Twitter corroborate this leak in the coming months, as the Twitter user known as “FootyHeadlines” has created a name for himself by disclosing early kit designs.
