Since Denver swept the Lakers in four games in the 2023 Western Conference Finals, the Lakers and the Nuggets have been rivals. A recent highlight play appears to indicate that Reggie Jackson’s attempted fake shot can still mislead LeBron James, suggesting that the drama is far from over.
Jamal Murray located Reggie Jackson in the corner and handed the ball to him after circling the baseline. Jackson pumped faked and struck the floor, sending James down.
It appears as though James was duped into thinking something that wasn’t true from the viewpoint of the TV camera. Still, a closer inspection, as demonstrated during the live broadcast, showed that James had really trampled on Jackson’s footwear. This ultimately caused him to lose his balance and tumble backward. On the other hand, according to Denver supporters, LeBron sustained shattered ankles.
As the Western Conference Finals continue to unfold, an increasing number of unforgettable moments are being created. Up until the half, the Lakers were behind by nine points, but several impressive individual performances had been made. LeBron James finished the game with 10 points, two assists, and five rebounds, while Anthony Davis scored 17 points.
In order to close the gap with Denver, Los Angeles will need to strengthen their defensive unit. Furthermore, Denver shot 38.7% from three-point range, compared to Los Angeles’ meager 30%. The Lakers will get closer to taking the lead if they are able to make more baskets from beyond the arc.
With 19 points, Nikola Jokic leads Denver by a clear margin. It seems like the most formidable combatants will square off as the second part of the battle nears in the Mile High City. Reggie Jackson’s play against LeBron might perhaps be the catalyst for Los Angeles to go on the offensive.
