Memphis Grizzlies waive 3 players to finalize 2023-24 roster: See the full team

The Memphis Grizzlies finalized their roster ahead of the 2023-24, and it came with no major surprises.

The roster includes 15 standard contracts and three players on two-way deals. Offseason acquisitions Marcus Smart and Derrick Rose are the lone two players on the 15-man roster that didn’t end last season with Memphis.

Jacob Gilyard and Vince Williams Jr. are the two-way contract holdovers from the end of last season. They’re joined by rookie forward GG Jackson, who was the lone rookie drafted by the Grizzlies. He’s the only first-year player on the roster.

Kenneth Lofton Jr. started last season on a two-way contract and was later added to the 15-man roster before the playoffs. The current players on two-way contracts are expected to split their time between the Grizzlies and Memphis Hustle. Two-way players can only be active on an NBA team for a maximum of 50 games, and they’re ineligible for the postseason.

Memphis waived guard Shaquille Harrison, wing Adonis Arms and guard David Johnson.

Harrison is a name to monitor if the Grizzlies choose to take advantage of a suspension exemption they would be granted after the fifth game of the season. The exemption would allow Memphis to add a player to its roster while Morant serves the remainder of his 25-game suspension on the exempt list.

Arms and Johnson could join the Hustle G League roster when they clear waivers.

The Grizzlies will open the season on Oct. 25 against the New Orleans Pelicans (7 p.m., Bally Sports Southeast).
