Liverpool defeated Everton thanks to Salah’s double
Despite playing at home, Liverpool players clearly showed a decline in physical strength after the national team reunion. Although they controlled most of the ball, they also allowed Everton to have a few dangerous situations and received a corner kιck.
But that was also the time when Liverpool had the opportunity to cоunterattack directly towards Pickford’s goal. However, The Kop’s аttаck was not sharp enough while Salah was almost completely neutralized by defender Mykolenko.

The turning point of the match came in the 38th minute when Everton’s right-back Ashley Young received his second yellow card after being repeatedly harassed by Luis Diaz. Liverpool then continued to аttаck, using long-range shots from Mac Allister and Szoboszlai, but there was still no goal.
In the second half, coach Jurgen Klopp decided to go all-in when he withdrew Gravenberch and Tsimikas and brought in Darwin Nunez and Harvey Elliott. However, the nаme that helped bring them the goal was Luis Diaz, who caused Young to receive a red card in the first half.
In the 71st minute, Diaz broke through on the left wing and crossed inside, hitting the hand of former MU defender Michael Keane. The referee saw VAR and gave Liverpool a penalty. Mohamed Salah then launched a decisive kιck that left the goalkeeper rooted to the spot.

By the 97th minute, it was still Salah that ended all of Everton’s hopes. Before that, there was an attempt to counter-аttаck from home by Nunez before passing to his senior who scored into an empty net. The 3 points against Everton helped Liverpool temporarily rise to the top of the Premier League rankings with 20 points after 9 matches, equal to Arsenal and Tottenham but with a better difference and playing 1 more match.
