NBA star Steph Curry accidentally became a laughingstock when he tried to get a funny dunk against Victor Wembanyama

Stephen Curry, who stands at 6 feet and 2 inches, is fairly tall in comparison to the ordinary individual. However, in the world of basketball, the Warriors guard is considered to be one of the NBA’s most accomplished players despite his relatively small stature.

One cannot say the same thing about the rookie center for the Spurs, Victor Wembanyama. The excitement around the top overall pick in the 2023 draft has been through the roof thus far in the preseason, and with good reason. Despite his height (which is classified as 7′ 4″), he has outstanding shooting and ball-handling ability, both of which distinguish Curry from other players.

The sharpshooting of Curry has contributed to the evolution of basketball. On the court, he accomplishes things that the vast majority of players could only hope to achieve. One of those things, however, is not winning a jump ball competition against a man who is over a foot taller than he is.

However, you have to give Curry credit for trying. During the opening minutes of the exhibition match between the Warriors and the Spurs on Friday night, Curry made a concerted effort to steal the ball from Wembanyama. It came as no surprise that the plan did not quite work out.

He wasn’t the only Splash Brother to get a glimpse of what Wembanyama is capable of doing up close and personal. After a few minutes had passed, the athletic rookie came out of the post to block a three-point effort by Klay Thompson, and then quickly followed that up with an easy transition dunk.

Wembanyama is currently in first place for scoring with 12 points, and he has also blocked three shots in just eight minutes of game time. At the completion of the first quarter, San Antonio holds a 44–35 advantage against Golden State.
