What HAPPEND ?

Trent Alexander-Arnold, the English international defender, is among several athletes who are part of a strategic investment in motorsport made by Investment Manager APEX, specializing in sports, media, and entertainment. This project has also piqued the interest of tennis star Alexander Zverev, golf legend Rory McIlroy, and former heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua.

They have become members of the syndicate formed by Otro Capital, which, in June, paid $200 million (£165 million) to acquire a 24 percent share in Alpine. The initial arrangement included actors Reynolds, McElhenny, and Michael B. Jordan, all of whom have some involvement in British football with Wrexham and Bournemouth. Stars from the Kansas City Chiefs, Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes, have also made investments.

Regarding the idea, Alexander-Arnold stated, “I am thrilled to lead an investor group investing in Alpine F1.” The prospect is tremendously exciting; Formula One is expanding greatly on a global scale, and I’m excited to help fuel that expansion. In a high-stress setting, the sport combines inventiveness, pinpoint accuracy, and teamwork—aspects of my game that we share in common.

Alpine F1

Alpine has fallen behind teams like McLaren and Aston Martin this season after finishing fourth in the F1 constructors’ championship in 2022. With Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly confirmed as drivers through 2024, they are still extremely ambitious. The team is estimated to be worth $900 million (£741 million).
