Senior Manchester United players have pushed Jadon Sancho to apologize to Erik ten Hag; if he doesn’t, he will be made available for a transfer in January.
Ten Hag stated that Sancho’s exclusion from the team for the 3-1 loss against Arsenal on September 3 was due to the winger’s failure to meet the necessary standards during training. Sancho declared on social media shortly after that the manager’s justification was “wholly false.”
Sancho has also spoken with officials at United to emphasize that the situation can only be rectified if he extends regret to Ten Hag. Due to safeguarding requirements, the player has been made to practice with the under-18 team after essentially labeling Ten Hag a liar. He is also had to change on his own.
Although it has been some time since the incident, Ten Hag would be open to reintegrating the 23-year-old into the first team squad should he receive an apology. Prior to being benched for the Arsenal match, United was working with Sancho on his behavior. United acknowledges that the only course of action, short of apologising, is to sell or loan the player, who cost £73 million when he signed with Borussia Dortmund in July 2021.
Ten Hag stated during the Arsenal match: “Jadon, we did not select him based on his training performances. At Manchester United, there is a daily threshold that must be met, and decisions can be made by those on the front lines. He was therefore not chosen for this game.
Sancho answered with a statement that he subsequently took down. “Please don’t believe everything you read!” he wrote. I will not put up with individuals saying things that are flat out false; this week, I performed admirably in training. I’ve been used as a scapegoat for far too long, which is unfair, and I think there are other causes for this situation that I won’t discuss.
