Apparently, it continues. Some refuse to accept that they are fielding the same team as last season. Bill Simmons argued on The Ringer podcast that the Heat should still pursue James Harden.

Avoid giving up too much. 

“If I’m Miami, I’ll trade Kyle Lowry for James Harden and throw in something else,” Simmons stated. “I won’t give up Tyler Herro for one year of James Harden.”

Harden has almost left Philadelphia after a spat with owner Daryl Morey. After failing to make an offseason transaction, the Sixers rιsk Harden sitting or being dissatisfied.

The Sixers reportedly talked to the Clippers before that cooled. The Heat are still mentioned despite no communication between the parties. 

Heat are satisfied with their roster. Being just months removed from the NBA Finals isn’t horrible. It was unclear if he would fit in Miami, given his struggles at every stop in the league.
