Steph Curry heroics not enough as Jimmy Butler, Miami Heat hold off Golden State Warriors

The Miami Heat defeated the Golden State Warriors 116-109 at home thanks in large part to Jimmy Butler’s 22 points.

With eight assists and six rebounds in the game, Butler scored twelve of his points in the third quarter. His efforts led the Heat to victory for the third time in a row.

In the last two minutes of the game, Steph Curry made back-to-back 3-pointers to give the Warriors their final nine points and reduce Golden State’s fourth-quarter deficit from 13 to seven.

After Bam Adebayo of Miami missed a jumper, the standout point guard missed three free throws to pull Golden State within 115-109, but with 12.2 seconds remaining, Adebayo airballed a 3-point effort. Butler then made one of his next two free throws to help seal the victory.

In his second game back from a shattered tailbone, Curry shot 9-19 from the field, including 5-11 from three.

Herro finished with 20 points, and Duncan Robinson scored 21 for Miami. Adebayo finished with nine rebounds, six assists, and nine points. Trevor Ariza and Andre Iguodala both had ten points in the game.

Iguodala scored all of his points in the fourth quarter. Goran Dragic rested at the beginning of Oladipo’s game as he healed from a lower back ailment. Oladipo shot 2 for 8 during his 23-minute game, but he still finished with five assists and six points.

Golden State’s Andrew Wiggins finished with 23 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists; however, he was limited to just 5 points in the second half. Draymond Green added eight assists, ten rebounds, and sixteen points as well.
