Trent Alexander-Arnold has made an unexpected career shift, venturing into the world of Formula One by joining the Alpine Racing F1 team through a new investment opportunity.
The Liverpool star, renowned for his football prowess, follows the path of sports luminaries like Anthony Joshua and Rory McIlroy by investing in the Alpine Racing F1 team, facilitated by the Otro Capital investment group. This investment was part of a $212 million (£174 million/€200 million) venture that also brought Hollywood actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney into the mix.
Otro Capital, co-founded by former RedBird partners Alec Scheiner, Niraj Shah, and Isaac Halyard, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, emphasizing the strategic value that accomplished athletes and sports investors bring to the collaboration with Alpine F1.
Virgil van Dijk, Alexander-Arnold’s Liverpool teammate, is also exploring diverse investment avenues, demonstrating the trend among footballers to leverage their success on and off the field.
