Liverpool Eyes Young Schalke Midfielder Assan Ouedraogo for Future Reinforcement
Liverpool remains vigilant in its pursuit of talented midfield prospects, with the spotlight now shining on Schalke’s emerging young talent, Assan Ouedraogo. Despite Liverpool’s acquisition of four new midfielders this summer, the club continues its search for fresh talent. While Andre of Fluminense is a prominent candidate, Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg recently introduced another name for Liverpool fans to monitor closely.
Florian Plettenberg reported on Twitter, “Liverpool and especially Jurgen Klopp is monitoring the development of Assan Ouedraogo! The 17-year-old versatile midfielder from Schalke has a release clause in 2024. Clubs from abroad have to pay around €20m [£17m]. Next to LFC, more clubs from England are interested: Everton & Brighton!”
Ouedraogo may be a new name for most Liverpool fans, but the 17-year-old midfielder is already making waves. Described as a player with “explosive pace” by the official Bundesliga site, he possesses the ability to drop deep and orchestrate attacks, much like legendary Spaniard Xabi Alonso.
Standing at an impressive 6 feet 3 inches, Ouedraogo’s physical presence is turning heads among scouts. Although he currently plays for Schalke, a struggling team in Bundesliga 2, his talent suggests a future at a higher level. Despite not being a household name yet, Ouedraogo’s potential makes him an enticing prospect for Liverpool. To secure his services, they might need to act swiftly before another club swoops in.
