Team USA’s Roster Stacked with Stars for 2024 Paris Olympics; Jrue Holiday Responds to Rumors
The 2024 Paris Olympics are shaping up to be a showcase of immense talent for Team USA, with stars like LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Devin Booker expressing interest in representing the red, white, and blue. However, the team is in need of a versatile guard who can excel at both ends of the court. Enter Jrue Holiday, a teammate of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown from the Boston Celtics, who has reportedly become a prime target for the USA basketball program. In his latest statement to Chris Forsberg of NBC Sports, Holiday shared his perspective and willingness to play for his country.
When asked about the rumors surrounding Team USA’s pursuit of his commitment for the 2024 Paris Olympics, Jrue Holiday responded, “Oh? Well, I haven’t heard anything yet.”
Holiday, a star for the Celtics, was a key part of the elite squad that secured the gold medal at the 2020 Olympics. During that tournament, he demonstrated his exceptional skills on both ends of the floor, averaging 11.8 points per game with a shooting efficiency of 48.3% from all areas of scoring. His playmaking abilities were also evident, as he averaged 3.8 assists per game. Additionally, his well-rounded performance included an average of 4.8 rebounds per game.
The prospect of wearing the iconic Team USA jersey once again, possibly alongside some of his Celtics teammates, is an exciting proposition for Holiday. He expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “Why not? I’d like to see what we could do out there,” regarding the possibility of representing his country once more.
