Liverpool has reportedly initiated contact with Max Eberl regarding the potential appointment of the German as their new sporting director. Max Eberl is widely recognized as one of the top sporting directors in Germany, with his impressive work at Borussia Monchengladbach particularly standing out. Currently, Liverpool and Bayern Munich are both vying to secure Eberl’s services, although it would seem logical for the former Leipzig executive to join Bayern. Nevertheless, the prospect of working in the Premier League alongside Jurgen Klopp could be enticing for Eberl, making Liverpool an attractive option.

While Eberl’s most recent role with Leipzig didn’t necessarily cast him in the best light, his track record suggests he could be a valuable addition to any top club. Liverpool, with its connection to Klopp, could be an ideal match for the experienced sporting director, offering him a new challenge away from his native Germany. However, Liverpool will need to move swiftly, given Bayern’s interest in Eberl.
