Qatari billionaire gives up buying Manchester United

Qatari banker Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani has decided to withdraw from the process of buying Manchester United; Andrey Rublev reaches the final of Shanghai Masters… is the main news in the sports news on the morning of October 15.

Sheikh Jassim made an offer of $6 billion for  Manchester United  , but that did not satisfy the Glazer family. Although this price is much higher than the club’s $3.3 billion valuation on the New York Stock Exchange.

This made  the Qatari billionaire  depressed and decided to leave the race. Meanwhile, British billionaire Jim Ratcliffe also gave up hope of buying all of Manchester United, and switched to an agreement to buy back a minority stake in this club, according to BBC Sports, about 25% of the shares.

With these new developments, it is likely that the  Glazer family  will continue to hold Manchester United. And the team with the richest history in English football continues to prolong the crisis. 

In recent rounds, Manchester United fans have continuously organized protests against the Glazer family inside and outside Old Trafford.

Currently Manchester United is ranked 10th in  the Premier League , with 4 losses in the first 8 rounds. They also lost their first two matches in the Champions League against Bayern Munich (3-4) and Galatasaray (2-3). 

Rublev aims to win his  second  Masters  1000 title of the year after winning in Monte Carlo in April.

Speaking to the press after defeating his close friend Dimitrov, tennis player Rublev said: “It’s not easy to fight against friends. I feel sad but at the same time I also want to win. 

It’s a mixture of many emotions… In the immediate future, I will try to rest to prepare for the match with Hubert Hurkacz.”

The Italian team had a strong 4-0 victory over Malta in the 6th series of matches in Group C of  Euro 2028 qualifying . Italy’s goals were scored by Bonaventura, Berardi (two goals), and Frattesi.

With this victory, Italy temporarily ranked second with 10 points after 5 matches, 3 points behind  England . 

In the next round taking place on October 18, the Italian team will be a guest at England’s Wembley stadium. That will be the decisive match for the first ticket of this group to participate in the Euro 2028 finals.
