Liverpool just received bad news when Andy Robertson suffered a shoulder ιnjury in Scotland’s 0-2 loss to Spain.
Andy Robertson was forced to leave the field after a collision with Spanish goalkeeper Unai Simon. During an aerial dispute, both Robertson and Simon jumped. The home team’s goalkeeper then pressed directly on the away team’s defender during the landing phase.
The Liverpool left-back was treated immediately by Scottish medical staff and had to wear a sling on his right arm as he left the field. Robertson’s team lost 0-2 to Spain, thereby ending their winning streak in Euro 2024 qualifying.
Andy Robertson was injured after the loss to Spain
Scotland will meet France in a friendly match early next week. Robertson has appeared in all eight of Liverpool’s Premier League matches so far as Jurgen Klopp’s side sit fourth in the Premier League, three points off the top spot.
With the ιnjury, Robertson’s ability to play against France is still open, and even with a shoulder ιnjury, he may have to take a long-term break. If a player born in 1996 is absent for a few weeks or months, this will be a big loss for the Red Brigade.
Liverpool just had a 2-2 draw at Brighton’s field. After the series of matches between the national teams, they will host Everton at home in round 9 of the Premier League. Klopp’s team’s goal is definitely 3 points to hopefully close the gap with Tottenham at the top.
