Steph Curry, the star of the Golden State Warriors, demonstrated his class outside of the court when he brightened the day of a little fan by reaching out to her.
Nine-year-old Riley Morrison, a fan of the two-time MVP, wrote to the two-time winner to let him know that she couldn’t purchase his iconic shoes, the “Curry 5’s,” on the Under Armour website.
The child asked the 30-year-old if he could assist her out after being “disappointed” to learn that the shoes were being sold in the boy’s area of the online store.Curry replied to Riley’s initial letter ten days later, expressing his worry over the matter.
Curry wrote: “I have spoken with Under Armour about how we can resolve the matter for the past two days and I appreciate your concern.”
‘Sadly, on the internet, we have classified smaller sizes as ‘boys’. He continued, “We are fixing this right now.””I want you to be able to wear my kicks with pride, so I’m going to send you a pair of Curry 5’s right now, and you’ll be among the first kids to get the Curry 6’s,” he said.
Finally, I want you to join me in celebrating International Women’s Day on March 8th—we have something amazing planned! More on that later, but make plans to spend that evening in Oakland!
Social media users appreciated the generous gesture extensively; his letter received over 121,000 likes and 20,000 retweets on Twitter alone.
Curry, who has been out for three weeks due to a groin injury, will be looking to show how excellent he is back on the floor following his impeccable performance off it.
