Lamine Yamal, a sensational young player for Barcelona, will not be remaining in the Spain national team camp, according to an official announcement made by La Roja.
The young player, who was only 16 years old at the time, had been given a spot on the national team for the upcoming UEFA Euro 2024 Qualification matches against Scotland and Norway.
However, the young prodigy suffered a relatively minor injury while playing for Barcelona in their most recent La Liga match against Granada.
After that, it was rumored that Yamal would not be joining the Spain camp; but, the RFEF insisted on having him in the concentration in order to carry out their own tests and determine whether or not he could play some part in one of the two qualifying matches.
As a result, Yamal rejoined the rest of the team even though he was still experiencing some of the pain that he had been experiencing as a result of his injuries.
Following yesterday’s tests, the Spanish national team has issued a statement confirming that Yamal will be stepping down from his position. The statement reads as follows:
After being examined by the medical staff of the Royal Spanish Football Federation, the international player Lamine Yamal departs the camp of the Spanish national team.
It has been decided that he will not be able to take part in the upcoming two Euro 2024 qualification matches, which will take place in Spain against Scotland in Seville and Norway against Norway in Oslo.
According to prior reports, it may take Yamal around 10 days to recover from his fitness issue. This provides Barcelona with hope that he may be ready in time to face Athletic Club after the international break.
