The old team decided to honor Ronaldo

The former childhood team of Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, Sporting Lisbon, has just decided to honor the team’s former star.Gate number 7 of Jose Alvalade Stadium was renamed Ronaldo. (Photo: LP)Accordingly, Sporting Lisbon has made the decision to change gate number 7 of Jose Alvalade Stadium to Cristiano Ronaldo, the consensus was reached after the club’s general meeting of members. 71% of the club’s board members voted in favor of the above decision. Previously, gate number 7 of Jose Alvalade Stadium was named after Manuel Fernandes, one of the legends of Sporting Lisbon.

This is one of the great honors that only Ronaldo can have at Sporting Lisbon as he grew up from the team’s training center and only played 31 matches, scoring 5 goals before joining Man Utd. But CR7 is the greatest player that Sporting Lisbon has ever trained in the team’s history.Even at the end of 2022, the team’s leadership made great efforts to bring this star back to his “old home”. 

Not only that, Maria Dolores Aveiro – Ronaldo’s mother – also publicly said many times that she wanted her son to return to Sporting Lisbon.

However, Ronaldo then decided to join Al Nassr in the Saudi Pro League and is having very successful playing days.

And in a recent statement, the Portuguese superstar also expressed his desire to end his career at Al Nassr instead of looking for a new stop.
