On Mail Sport, Chris Sutton asserted that Manchester United made a big mistake when signing goalkeeper Andre Onana from Inter Milan in the summer.
Sutton believes that the Cameroon international is not good enough to play for Man United, adding that the Red Devils would have fared better results if he had stuck with David de Gea.
Speaking on Mail Sport’s It’s All Kicking Off podcast, Sutton claimed Onana was putting pressure on the entire Man United squad after making a string of serious errors: “I actually had to look up his name.”
Onana made many big mistakes at MU
“We had a big debate about Arsenal having two great goalkeepers. I think Onana is okay with his feet but in the end you have to use your hands and I don’t think he’s good enough.”
“The bottom line is that over the years, Manchester United have had great goalkeepers – Peter Schmeichel, even David de Gea. De Gea is a much better goalkeeper than Onana, but if Onana still performs There’s no problem with my work.”
“I think he’s putting more and more pressure on the team and the truth is he’s not good enough for Manchester United, they took a big risk bringing him in.”
