Team News: Harvey Elliott Takes Curtis Jones’ Place in Liverpool’s Starting XI Against Brighton & Hove Albion
In Liverpool’s Premier League clash with Brighton & Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium, Harvey Elliott will step in for the suspended Curtis Jones. Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool’s manager, faced a midfield challenge due to the unavailability of Curtis Jones, Stefan Bajcetic, and Thiago Alcantara. As a result, Elliott has been chosen to partner Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai in the midfield.
Although Ryan Gravenberch scored his first goal for Liverpool against Union SG earlier in the week, he will have to wait for his full Premier League debut. In the defense, Joel Matip is preferred over Ibrahima Konate.
In the attacking department, Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez return as expected alongside Mohamed Salah. Diogo Jota is serving a one-game suspension, and Cody Gakpo is sidelined due to a knee injury.
On the other side, Brighton’s manager Roberto De Zerbi has made seven changes to the lineup that played against Marseille on Thursday. This includes the return of Bart Verbruggen in goal instead of Jason Steele. Igor Julio, Carlos Baleba, and Simon Adingra also make the starting lineup, while former Liverpool player Adam Lallana is available on the bench. Tariq Lamptey and James Milner are absent.

Liverpool Starting XI: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson; Szoboszlai, Mac Allister, Elliott; Salah, Nunez, Diaz
