The impending international break is drawing near, thus Spain manager Luis de la Fuente has published the squad list for Spain’s upcoming matches over the next couple of weeks. The roster includes as many as four Barcelona players who have been selected to play for Spain.
This month, Spain will compete in the UEFA Euro 2024 Qualifiers against Scotland and Norway. They will be looking to continue on their current fine run of form after picking up wins over Georgia and Cyprus.
There are four players from Barcelona on this team.
As was said previously, De la Fuente has officially made public the squad list for Spain’s upcoming games against Scotland and Norway, and four players from Barcelona have been selected for the team.
Gavi, Alejandro Balde, Lamine Yamal, and Ferran Torres are the four individuals whose identities are being questioned here.
Gavi and Balde have both established themselves as mainstays in the Spanish national squad, and Yamal won his first cap during the international break that occurred a month ago. In point of fact, the young player scored on his very first appearance for La Roja when he was only 16 years old.
As for Ferran, the 23-year-old had been out of the picture for the national team since the conclusion of the World Cup in 2017, but he was brought back into action a month ago due to injuries sustained by Marco Asensio and Dani Olmo.
He had capitalized on the opportunity that had been given to him by scoring twice in the victory over Cyprus. Because of this and the way he has been playing for Barcelona, he has been called up to the roster for the national team.
There is no room for Oriol Romeu or Inigo Martinez.
Luis de la Fuente had indicated that Inigo Martinez will be a part of the preliminary squad list, but it has since been determined that the central defender will not be selected.
The same is true for Oriol Romeu, who was also listed on the preliminary list but was ultimately left off the final roster due to insufficient playing time.
Pedri is also unable to play because of an injury, while Marcos Alonso is now not in the running for a spot on the national squad.
Fermin Lopez, still a teenager, has been selected to play for Spain’s Under-21 team in its upcoming matches against Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
