Dean Jones, a journalist, was kind enough to share his thoughts with GIVEMESPORT regarding the potential of Diego Simeone taking Erik Ten Hag’s place.

As Manchester United continues to endure embarrassing defeats on a variety of fronts, questions concerning the future of Erik Ten Hag are beginning to boil up. Despite this, a report from the Guardian stated that the board of directors of Man United still has faith in the Dutch strategist.

While everything is going on, journalist Dean Jones has some thoughts to share about the prospect of Diego Simeone taking over for Ten Hag. 

Jones stated to GIVEMESPORT, “If I’m being completely honest, it seems like an odd situation.” If you want to hire someone who can come in and change the culture at Manchester United and bring in something completely new, then I would say, “okay, yeah, you might want to do it there.” Diego Simeone is a role model who can come in and transform the culture at Manchester United.

“But once more, in order for it to occur will need a very long time. And when it comes down to it, I don’t even think Simeone wants it (the job of coaching Man Utd).  Indeed, this is a pretty peculiar occurrence. It also makes me think of that internet image that depicts a dog lazing over a fire while saying, “This is fine.” What kind of mentor would want to be in charge of a team in this predicament?
