After the Warriors made the trade during the summer to get the “Point God,” Stephen Curry was still unable to believe that he will be playing with Chris Paul.

The news that Stephen Curry will be joining Chris Paul on the Golden State Warriors for the 2023–24 season has not yet sunk in for him, and he is still amazed by the prospect. The two had fought against one another for a significant amount of time, and during those fierce battles, nobody really believed that they would end up being teammates. However, here they are now, about to join forces in a ‘id’ to assist the Dus in achieving yet another championship victory.
In all honesty, this is a “full circle” moment for Curry, and as such, he couldn’t help but be appreciative of the chance that was given to him.
Curry has expressed his optimism that he and CP3 will be able to lead the Warriors to the promised land and win the championship together as they prepare to play together for the first time. For Paul, it will undoubtedly be extremely memorable, as the “Point God” has been looking for the only thing that is missing from his Hall-of-Fame resume for such a long time: an NBA title. If he wins it, he will finally have it.
“It’s a beautiful thing that you can’t write these narratives. In all honesty, it’s the truth. To bring this discussion full circle, we’ve been in a lot of fights throughout the years. It’s incredible that we have the chance to play together and, if all goes well, achieve success at the top level when he’s in his 18th year and I’m about to start my 15th. According to ESPN, when asked about his partnership with Paul, Curry remarked, “He’s extremely competitive, and so am I.”
In all honesty, Stephen Curry couldn’t have put it any better than he did. Who among us could forget their matchup in the Western Conference Finals when Chris Paul was still playing for the Houston Rockets? Who would have thought, given how severe their battle was, that they would eventually work together as teammates at some time in their careers?
It is evident that Curry is not one bit bothered about the situation, despite the fact that there are issues over Paul’s ability to fit in with the Warriors due to the disparities in playing style. Aside from that, if there is anyone who is aware of what CP3 is capable of, it is certainly Steph, who has witnessed his magnificence on a number of occasions.
The weird sensation that Stephen Curry had about the Chris Paul trade
It should be noted that this is not the first time that Curry has voiced his happiness at the fact that the Warriors were able to complete a trade for Paul during the offseason.
Curry described the experience of playing on the same team as Paul as “surreal” in an interview that took place in July of last year. In a manner that was analogous to his interpretation of the phrase “coming full circle,” Chef Curry took a look back at the way in which the veteran playmaker had acted in the capacity of a mentor to him back when he was just starting out.
Curry has acknowledged that it is actually “amazing” now that he is no longer a student but rather a master like Paul. He also said that it feels “amazing.”
“It’s the most strange thing in the world because he was my big brother, and he still is my big brother in the sense that when I was coming up as a rookie, he showed me the ropes. It’s the most surreal thing in the world because he was my big brother. You have to fight for a spot in the playoffs, championships, and everything else, and there’s a lot of tradition involved. He is in his 18th year, while I am only in my 15th. It’s incredible that we get to work on something together at this point. Curry said, “I’m going to try my best to enjoy the ride.”
Curry is not the only member of the Warriors who is pleased with the team’s recent acquisition of Paul. Klay Thompson, another member of the Splash Brothers, commented not too long ago that the team is very fortunate to have him on their side.
DeMarcus Cousins’ comments that Golden State got a star player who was well past his prime in exchange for a younger player who had plenty of potential in Jordan Poole went viral after he questioned the Warriors’ trade for Paul and emphasized that it doesn’t make sense for them to have acquired such a guy. Given his advanced age and the nature of Steve Kerr’s offense, Cousins does not believe that the playmaker will significantly elevate the Dubs.
Although Thompson did not provide a straight response to that, he did deny the widespread belief that the Paul deal will be beneficial to the Dubs. In his opinion, having a player of Paul’s caliber will only be beneficial as the Warriors aim to take advantage of the remaining prime years of their core, which is composed of him, Curry, and Draymond Green. This is because those three players have a combined age of less than 30.
“We are really fortunate. That’s undoubtedly one of the best players of all time. He is in the top 75. Every franchise that he was the point guard for he elevated to the next level. And as a shooter myself, I couldn’t be more excited. I have no doubt that CP will place it just here [on his hands], on the seams of the seams. He is going to make things very easy for me. Every night, I’m going to give myself a couple of extra easy cuckoos. And he comes out on top. You can get an idea of how competitive he is by the number of times I’ve competed against him. He won’t stop at everything to get the win. During an episode of Podcast P with Paul George presented by Wae Sports + Entertainment, Thompson stated that this is the image they are going for.
“We are really fortunate. That’s undoubtedly one of the best players of all time… He has elevated every team for which he has served as point guard… Every night, I’m going to give myself a couple of extra easy cuckoos. He is a victor.”

The impact that adding Paul will have on the Warriors is yet unknown; but, as Curry and Thompson alluded to, they have high hopes that it will be beneficial. Fans of the Warriors certainly have their fingers crossed for that outcome.
