Entering the second half, Man Utd still maintained a counter-attacking style. In the 52nd minute, Rashford ran up from home to receive a long pass from his teammate. Galatasaray’s defense crossed half the field. The English striker faced Muslera but was not confident in finishing. He passed the ball to Fernandez to assist, but the ball went to the feet of the away team’s defender.

In the 59th minute, Hojlund received the ball in the penalty area. He confidently turned the ball to eliminate the opponent’s defender and then neatly finished to defeat Muslera. However, the goal was not recognized because of offside. 

However, the Danish striker quickly scored the second goal. In the 67th minute, Hojlund took the ball from Galatasaray’s wrong pass in the middle of the field. He accelerated strongly, leaving the away team’s defender behind and then stuck the tip of his shoe to put the ball past Muslera to increase the score to 2-1.

It seemed that the second goal made Man Utd’s defense subjective. In the 71st minute, Amrabat left the left wing open, the away team’s players quickly attacked, creating an opportunity for Akturkoglu to score diagonally at the top of the penalty area to equalize 2-2.

The defense for Man United committed blunder after error. In the 77th minute of the game, Onana made a risky pass to the other team by putting the ball at their feet. This put the home team’s goal in jeopardy. Casemiro made the decision to make a tackle within the penalty area in order to stop the other player. The referee witnessed the Brazilian midfielder make an error, which resulted in him receiving a second yellow card. Because of this, he was dismissed from the game, and Galatasay was awarded a penalty kick.

Icardi was given the opportunity to assist the away team in taking the lead at the 11-meter mark, but he instead kicked the ball out of play. However, the Argentine striker did not have to dwell on his missed opportunity for too long because the defensive play of the home team continued to set up scoring chances for him.

In the 81st minute, the center defenders for Manchester United came up high, and Amrabat stood too deep, which led to an opponent’s header mistakenly clearing the ball into an assist for Icardi to face Onana. Icardi accomplished the finish this time, making it look easy to bring the score to 3-2. 

Despite being behind a goal, Man Utd was in a position of lacking men and could not rise up and had to bitterly admit defeat at home. This is Man Utd’s second consecutive loss in the Champions League group stage, which makes the British representative’s ability to pass the group stage slimmer.
