Spain’s preliminary squad list for the Euro qualifiers against Scotland, Norway: Barcelona with 6 names with potential young stars

In anticipation of the forthcoming international break, the managers of various national teams have begun to release their squad lists for the upcoming series of matches that will take place over the course of the following couple of weeks.

During the second international break of the 2023–24 season, a number of players from Barcelona will once again be called up to play for their respective national teams.

Spain’s preliminary roster includes six players from Barcelona.

Now, journalist Pedro Morata has revealed, through MARCA, the preliminary squad list that Spain manager Luis de la Fuente has prepared for the upcoming matches in October for Spain.

During the forthcoming international break, La Roja will be competing in their UEFA Euro 2024 Qualifiers against Scotland at home (October 12) and Norway away (October 15). Both matches will take place in October.

In addition, manager De la Fuente has put together a sizable preliminary squad list of 49 players for the next matches, which will be reduced to a number between 23 and 26 on October 6.

The provisional roster for Spain’s upcoming matches against Scotland and Norway includes as many as six players from Barcelona. Scotland and Norway are Spain’s future opponents.

In the defense, Alejandro Balde and Inigo Martinez are both on the roster, despite the fact that Martinez has seen very little action in recent games.

Gavi is a mainstay for Spain and will almost probably be included on the main list when it is revealed. When it comes to soccer, Gavi is a star. Oriol Romeu was also selected for the preliminary squad, although it is unknown whether or not he will be included in the final selection.

Lamine Yamal, who just made his debut with the Spain national team a month ago, is also on the pre-list. His teammate forward Ferran Torres, who just made his return to the Spain national team a month ago, is also on the pre-list.

Pedri and Alonso are not selected.

It should not come as a surprise that Luis de la Fuente did not include Pedri on his preliminary squad list because he is still recovering from the injury he sustained.

While everything is going on, veteran Barcelona defenders Marcos Alonso and Sergi Roberto are left out of the rotation entirely.

Ansu Fati, a player on loan from Barcelona who is presently playing for Brighton & Hove Albion and who scored his first goal for the Premier League side over the weekend, is eligible to make the team. There is room for him.
