Mohamed Salah’s agent has suggested that the Liverpool forward is now earning over £1 million per week after resolving his contract negotiations with the club last summer.

Salah’s contract extension had faced several challenges, with rumors of interest from other clubs and prolonged negotiations. Ultimately, a deal was reached, reported to be around £350,000 per week. However, recent comments from Rammy Abbas, Salah’s advisor, shed new light on the situation.

Abbas, along with Salah, participated in a Harvard Business School study about the contract negotiations. According to the study, negotiations had broken down at one point, just weeks before a breakthrough was achieved. Abbas emphasized that the differences in financial terms were substantial but not as simple as a 5% gap.

Salah’s advisor also mentioned that Salah would earn over £1 million per week if Liverpool met his financial demands. While the study did not specify the exact value of Salah’s new contract, it is implied that Liverpool agreed to the terms proposed by Abbas.

The study highlighted how Salah’s move to Liverpool in 2015 and his subsequent success with the club led to significant endorsement deals with companies like Adidas, Pepsi, and Gucci, among others.

According to Abbas, if Liverpool agrees to the proposed salary and Salah continues to perform at his previous levels, the total income for Salah and his image rights companies from both his playing contract and image rights contracts could range from €54 million to €62 million per year.

Although Salah committed to Liverpool until the summer of 2025, there has been ongoing interest from other clubs. Al-Ittihad made a substantial £150 million bid for Salah during the summer transfer window, which Liverpool rejected. It remains to be seen whether Liverpool or Salah will entertain such a record-breaking deal, but the Saudi Pro League team is expected to maintain their interest in the Egyptian international.
