Update Injury situation of Man Utd forces this week
Information from 90min shows that Man Utd likely does not have the best force before the Crystal Palace rematch.
The Red Devils have not played so well, or even called it bad, in the Premier League since the beginning of the season, losing 3 of the opening 6 matches and conceding 4 goals to Bayern Munich in the Champions League group stage.
Coach Erik ten Hag and his team played under their strength. However, it must be admitted that the Man Utd squad was devastated by a series of injuries. Fullback is the position most affected. The absence of Luke Shaw, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Sergio Reguilon forced Sofyan Amrabat to take on an unfamiliar role in the last two matches.
Man Utd does not have the best force.
According to 90min, it is expected that Man Ud will not have the best force when welcoming Crystal Palace to Old Trafford this week.
Sergio Reguilon
Reguilon unexpectedly arrived at Old Trafford at the end of the summer, when Man United was forced to act after Shaw’s ιnjury. The player on loan from Tottenham started well, but couldn’t play the full 90 minutes against Burnley and missed the win over Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup due to illness.
He is expected to be present in the Palace rematch and could return to the starting lineup.
Christian Eriksen
Another player absent from the win over Crystal Palace due to illness was Eriksen. The Danish player was also absent from the 1-0 win over Burnley at Turf Moor after starting three previous matches in the Premier League.
Eriksen is likely to be in the squad to face Palace but must accept a reserve role.
Scott McTominay
McTominay is expected to leave Manchester United in the summer transfer window, but is currently still part of coach Ten Hag’s squad.
This central midfielder started the last two matches, however he was absent in the 3-0 win over Palace due to illness. Once again, McTominay will return and strengthen the Red Devils squad in the Palace rematch.
Luke Shaw
The muscle problem that Shaw encountered in the 0-2 loss to Tottenham Hotspur in August had the biggest impact on Man United. At this time, the England international is on the road to recovery, but the match against Palace is probably too far away. It is likely that Shaw can only return in December.
Amrabat had to play against his strengths in the past 2 matches.
Lisandro Martinez
Lisandro Martinez’s absence against Burnley was compensated for by veteran midfielder Jonny Evans. Martinez’s leg ιnjury is not significant, but Man Utd does not want to take any risks. Ten Hag hopes Martinez returns as soon as possible, but he will likely sit on the bench next match.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka
As if Shaw’s absence wasn’t bad enough, Man United were then dealt a huge blоw when Aaron Wan-Bissaka was sidelined for several weeks with a hamstring ιnjury. Wan-Bissaka is expected to return in mid-October.
Kobbie Mainoo
Mainoo played extremely impressively in the pre-season, but suffered a serious ankle ιnjury. It will be at the end of October that Mainoo will be able to return.
Tyrell Malacia
Malacia still has a lot of work to do when he returns, expected around November. But then, Malacia could be pushed out on loan.
Amad Diallo
Knee injuries hurt Diallo. However, returning to play is not far away. Man United’s medical team is helping Diallo recover from his ιnjury before he can play at the end of the year.
