Coach Erik Ten Hag has announced the list of 21 Man Utd players participating in the opening match of the Champions League group stage against Bayern Munich. Notably, Harry Maguire is the latest name to be sidelined due to injury.
Good news for Man Utd when Raphael Varane and Mason Mount have returned to training at Carrington after several weeks out due to injury. However, this duo will not travel with their teammates to Germany to attend the Bayern vs Man Utd match in the opening round of the 2023/24 Champions League group stage tomorrow (September 21).
Besides Varane and Mount, there is bad news for coach Ten Hag when Harry Maguire is also injured and is not in the list of 21 Man Utd players participating in this match. In the 2023/24 season, the English midfielder has not started any matches for Man Utd. The last time he played was a 1-3 loss to Arsenal in round 4 of the Premier League.
