The Red Devils rookie will have to wait until another match to shine.
Rookie Rasmus Hojlund had his first match at Old Trafford. The Danish blockbuster contract is expected to shine to help Man Utd win all 3 points against Brighton.
Hojlund responded to the enthusiastic cheers from the fans with an energetic performance.
The 20-year-old even scored a goal against Brighton to equalize the score for the home team in the first half.
Hojlund chose a smart position to catch a pass from Marcus Rashford and neatly finished to beat the Brighton goalkeeper.
However, VAR rejected the former Atalanta player’s goal because he thought Rashford’s previous ball handling had gone out of bounds.
In his second match for Man Utd, Hojlund was once again “robbed” by the VAR referee team.
Remember in the Arsenal encounter at the Emirates, the Danish star was brought onto the field in the second half and also created a threat to the Gunners’ goal.
With his physical superiority, he caused a lot of trouble for Gabriel Magalhaes.
Most notable was the heel kick that Hojlund gave Casemiro, before the Brazilian midfielder poked the ball open to open the scoring situation for Alejandro Garnacho.
Although the young Argentine talent scored a shot into the Gunners’ net afterward, upon checking the VAR, the referee rejected the goal for offside.
It was unlucky for Hojlund because he left his mark in his first two matches at Man Utd. However, looking more positively, this will be a rookie worth looking forward to for the Red Devils.
