3 huge squads of Man Utd with 2 rookies after Erik Ten Hag lost both Sancho and Antony

Ten Hag will probably have a hard time making the team at Manchester United when club football starts after the break for the international season.

By the time United plays against Brighton on Saturday and then travels to Bayern Munich for the Champions League match the following Wednesday, their vast array of options may have been drastically condensed.

Antony will not return to Man Utd ‘until further notice’

Jadon Sancho’s future at United is uncertain with showdown talks set for tomorrow

Today, Man Utd issued a statement announcing that Antony would not rejoin the team “until further notice” due to abuse claims made by three different women.

Jadon Sancho is reportedly preparing for confrontational discussions with Ten Hag to determine his future after his outburst in public following the 3-1 defeat at Arsenal.

Ten Hag will have to work hard to come up with a new strategy because United will likely be left with a winger shortage.

He might pursue a relationship with the young Facundo Pellistri.

The 21-year-old may now have the chance to secure a berth in the starting eleven after being held at Old Trafford despite loan transfer interest in the summer.

Ten Hag stated that Pellistri deserved time with the first squad in an interview with MUTV in March.

Additionally, with United lacking wing power right now, the Uruguayan has an opportunity to stake a long-term claim to the position.

Amad Diallo, a fellow young player, could compete for the position when he returns from injury, though the 21-year-old’s return is still a ways off following knee surgery.

One way Man Utd could line up against Brighton or Bayern Munich

Alternatively, Alejandro Garnacho could be deployed there.

Garnacho, 19, was inches away from netting a winner against Arsenal after coming on off the bench before his late strike was deemed offside.

But given he played right-wing at times last season, albeit making him far less effective than he is on the left, he could be given another chance to prove he can play the spot.

Alternatively, Alejandro Garnacho can play on the right flank, and Sergio Reguilon can play as a natural left-back.

Ten Hag’s final option might involve altering the team’s midfield dynamic by moving club captain Bruno Fernandes or possibly Mason Mount out wide.

Both Fernandes and Mount have played on the wing at various points in their careers, with Fernandes having a very significant period there when he played there last season.

The 29-year-old is most inventive in the center of the field, but Ten Hag may add players like Sofyan Amrabat to help the underwhelming midfield gain more influence over games.

Amrabat was supposed to solve many of Unitd’s midfield issues on the final day of his contract, but after leaving the Moroccan national team, he had a health scare.

Mount could make a comeback from his injury following the international break, and Kobbie Mainoo is likely to make a comeback later this month.

There may also be more alterations to the starting lineup, such as the substitution of Spurs loanee Sergio Reguilon for Dalot at left back.

Rasmus Hojlund can be replaced up front by Anthony Martial, whose playing time United wants to carefully monitor.

United could even bolster their midfield while moving Bruno Fernandes out wide
