AlphaTauri has confirmed that Daniel Ricciardo will be present at the Singapore Grand Prix but will not participate in the race.
He will join AlphaTauri’s race drivers, including his substitutes, Lawson, and Yuki Tsunoda in Singapore, primarily for engineering purposes.
Lawson, who is filling in for Ricciardo, expressed his excitement about his first-ever Formula 1 race on a street circuit, sharing a sentimental connection as he explained how Singapore was his favorite circuit as a child. He also mentioned that his father, who used to promise him a trip to the Singapore Grand Prix every year, will finally be attending the race this weekend.
McLaren’s legal case against reigning IndyCar champion Alex Palou, whom they had signed for the next three seasons, is proceeding in the United Kingdom’s Commercial Court. The legal paperwork refers to Palou as “ALPA,” the company through which his contracts are signed for the provision of his services. The claim form states that McLaren procured Palou’s services through a contract signed on October 1, 2022, including his role as McLaren’s Formula 1 reserve driver for the remainder of the year.
Nigel Mansell, the 1992 F1 world champion, is selling memorabilia from his racing career through an auction hosted by RM Sotheby’s. The “Nigel Mansell’s Legacy Collection” auction will take place from October 4th to 11th. The collection includes various items that were previously housed in Mansell’s own museum on the island of Jersey, such as a Ferrari steering wheel from 1989, wheels from Williams F1 cars, team memorabilia, his personalized UK registration plate, and race suits from different stages of his career.
