Real Madrid has determined that it wants to recruit Man City striker Julian Alvarez if the Mbappé deal fails

The top transfer target for Real Madrid is the striker Julian Alvarez of Man City.

Real Madrid is apparently interested in bringing Julian Alvarez to the Bernabeu during the upcoming summer, according to an article in the Spanish daily Fichajes. In order to fill the void left by Karim Benzema at center forward, “White Vulture” has singled out the Argentine striker as the man they are most interested in signing.

In the summer of 2019, it’s expected that Kylian Mbappe would join Real Madrid from PSG. The French striker prefers to play on the left flank rather than in the center of the field, therefore the Royal Spanish club does not currently have a center forward.

Despite not being each player’s natural position, the team’s head coach, Carlo Ancelotti, has used Vinicius and Rodrygo largely as forwards this season. Jude Bellingham, who is slightly above the three-man midfield, has been manning the number 10 position instead. Another option in the last area of the field is the Spanish striker Brahim Diaz, but Diaz is not your typical striker either.

Erling Haaland, Alvarez’s colleague at Manchester City, has been the subject of Real Madrid’s interest for quite some time. Even the so-called “White Vultures” have their sights set on the Norwegian striker as their main priority. However, it seems highly improbable that Haaland would leave Man City the following summer, which is why Real Madrid has turned to Alvarez.

Alvarez transferred from River Plate to Manchester City in July of last year. In his first year with Pep Guardiola’s squad, he scored 17 goals and provided five assists while playing in 49 games. Alvarez scored four goals during Argentina’s victory at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, which helped his nation win the tournament.

The 23-year-old attacker has started the current season strong, scoring two goals and providing one assist in his first four Premier League games. He has maintained his form throughout. The Argentinian international player’s contract with the Etihad Stadium team runs through June 2028, thus the asking price is not anticipated to be very cheap.
