The Red Bull Team Principal Anticipates a Formidable Challenge for Anyone Attempting to Outperform Max Verstappen in His Present State.
Red Bull Team Principal, Christian Horner, is confident that Max Verstappen’s current form at Red Bull makes him “untouchable.”
Verstappen recently secured his 10th consecutive victory at the Italian Grand Prix, surpassing Sebastian Vettel’s previous record. With Verstappen well on his way to a potential third world title, Horner believes it will be challenging for other teams to catch up and disrupt his winning streak in the latter part of the season.
Horner stated, “Max is in a period of his career where he’s just simply untouchable. I don’t think there’s any driver on the grid that will be able to achieve what he’s been doing in that car. Being his teammate is probably – in some respects – the most enviable job to have because the barometer is so high. It’s very difficult, and I think what we’re witnessing at the moment is a driver that is generational [talent].”
Verstappen has displayed remarkable consistency over the past three years, winning 14 races, with teammate Sergio Perez being the only driver to beat him on two occasions – the Saudi Arabian and Azerbaijan Grands Prix.
Even when Verstappen faced challenges such as a drive shaft failure in Jeddah, he showcased impressive recovery skills. Horner also noted Verstappen’s commanding presence in races like Bahrain, reinforcing his view of the Dutch driver’s exceptional form over an extended period.
