With international soccer coming up in a few days, FC Barcelona midfielder Gavi has joined the Spanish national team’s training. Spain is set to face Georgia and Cyprus in their upcoming UEFA Euro qualifiers. However, recent footage from Spain‘s training has gone viral on the Internet, where Gavi was seen wearing protective headgear. 

During FC Barcelona’s recent La Liga outing against Osasuna, Gavi suffered a blow to his ear. Gavi was left bleeding from his ear after coming together with Osasuna’s Ruben Garcia. However, the FC Barcelona midfielder continued to play after stopping briefly for medical attention. Not only did he complete the match, but he also helped his team to a hard-fought 2-1 win. 

Following the match, FC Barcelona‘s social media pages posted a picture of Gavi’s injury. In the picture that was captioned “Everything OK“, Gavi’s ears could be seen stapled to protect the injury. Therefore, the Spanish star was pictured wearing headgear to prevent any further injuries. However, Gavi’s picture has gone viral on the Internet, with one fan even writing, “Our thug has received his armor.“

Gavi is known for often putting his body on the line for the sake of his team during the games. The diminutive midfielder frequently goes headfirst into tackles. While most players wouldn’t even dare to put their foot in challenges, Gavi often uses his head to tackle a player. Gavi’s fearless attitude on the pitch even earned him praise recently from ex-FC Barcelona skipper and legendary Spanish defender Carles Puyol. 

Gavi’s love for FC Barcelona gets confirmed in the club’s documentary

Gavi has been showing his love for FC Barcelona both on and off the pitch. On the pitch, the 19-year-old midfielder fights for the club’s badge every time he steps on the pitch. Off the pitch, Gavi’s love for the Catalan club was displayed in a video from last year’s Ballon d’Or ceremony, where he won the Golden Boy award. 

FC Barcelona recently released the second season of their new TV series, ‘FC Barcelona: A New Era’. In the series, a clip of Gavi from the 2022 Ballon d’Or ceremony has been making the rounds on the Internet. In the clip, Gavi could be seen interacting with an FC Barcelona representative. He asks the club delegate about how he should conclude his speech after accepting the Golden Boy award. 

The Spanish star asks whether he should end his speech by saying “Forca Barca“, a common chant of the club. After the delegate asks Gavi not to say it, the soccer star then suggests whether he can say “Visca Barca,” another chant of the club, to which the delegate again shows his disapproval. However, while receiving the award, Gavi goes against the advice given to him and proceeds to say both chants.
