Mason Greenwood happily walked out onto the pitch to greet thousands of Getafe spectators with enthusiasm during an impressive launch ceremony at the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez

In a grand opening ceremony at Coliseum Alfonso Pérez, Mason Greenwood greeted the throngs of Getafe supporters with a joyful smile before entering the field.

Mason Greenwood will be loaned out to Getafe till the end of the 2023–24 season, MU determined on the final day of the summer market.

The English striker was previously forced to take a break from the game for more than a year and a half due to accusations of abuse and rape against his fiancée.

After an internal investigation and backlash from female fan groups in England, the Red Devils’ leadership agreed to let Greenwood restart his career elsewhere.

Getafe opened its arms to welcome the 21-year-old striker, promising to create the best conditions for Mason Greenwood to return to football.

Thousands of La Liga team fans were eagerly present last night (September 5) at the Coliseum to welcome Greenwood, along with two other rookies, Diego Rico and Oscar Rodriguez.

The English striker confided: “I am very happy to be here. For the past 4 or 5 months, I have been practicing and trying to catch up with my new teammates.

I will play each match one by one, trying to do my best to bring victory to Getafe.”

On his personal Instagram page, Greenwood’s girlfriend, Harriet Robson, also posted a photo of herself on the field and a Getafe shirt for her newborn son, printed with the number 12 and the words “Daddy”.
