According to reports, on Monday night, Liverpool received a staggering £215 million offer from Al-Ittihad for Mo Salah.
A delegation from Saudi Arabia arrived in London on Saturday, making a final effort to convince Liverpool to part ways with Salah this week.
Al-Ittihad, competing in the Saudi Pro League, is determined to secure the Egyptian’s services. They initially proposed £150 million, but their latest deal could potentially set a world record at £215 million when factoring in add-ons, as reported by The Sun.
In addition to the financial aspects, Salah has been presented with enticing incentives, including a weekly wage of £2.45 million, a share of shirt sales, a £55,000 win bonus, and the opportunity to serve as an ambassador for three prominent Saudi companies.
These ambassadorial roles could potentially earn Salah an additional £18 million, with each company offering £6 million.
Liverpool, particularly Jurgen Klopp, have publicly asserted Salah’s unavailability for transfer and his contentment with the club.
Although a £150 million offer was rejected last Thursday, Salah’s dedication to Liverpool was reinforced by his performance against Aston Villa on Sunday. Klopp emphasized, “I never had any doubt about his commitment. He is our player and wants to play here.”
Nonetheless, the Saudi contingent remains committed to pursuing the deal, believing that Salah may be open to joining Al-Ittihad. Their deadline for the transfer negotiations closes on Thursday, and there are suggestions that they may consider alternative targets if no progress is made by Tuesday.
However, some remain determined to persist until the very end.
It’s worth noting that Sergio Ramos, Salah’s former rival, was once linked with Al-Ittihad, but he has since rejoined his former club, Sevilla.
