Let’s re-evaluate the performance of Man United players in the 1-3 defeat against Arsenal at the Emirates.
Andre Onana – 5/10 points
Onana distributes the ball from behind very well. However, his blocking ability was once again questioned. The former Inter Milan goalkeeper should have done better in Arsenal’s second goal.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka – 7/10 points
Wan-Bissaka played quite well against Arsenal.
Wan-Bissaka defended well against Gabriel Martinelli. The defender made five tackles and won eight of nine duels. However, he showed limitations in his ability to contribute on the offensive front.
Victor Lindelof – 5/10 points
Lindelof made a reckless foul forcing the referee to show a yellow card right in the first half. He had to leave the field at the end of the second half, probably due to injury.
Lisandro Martinez – 6/10 points
The Argentine player held the ball a lot and completed 95% of his passes. Like Lindelof, he was also forced to play in a state of poor health.
Diogo Dalot – 7/10 points
Dalot gave a solid, disciplined performance. The Portuguese defender kept Bukayo Saka silent. He impressed with two timely clearances from danger.
Casemiro – 6/10 points
The Brazilian player is gradually regaining his form. Casemiro had a beautiful pass for Garnacho to score, unfortunately the decisive situation was disallowed for offside.
Ten Hag still has a lot of work to do.
Christian Eriksen – 6/10 points
The Danish player showed great vision with an assist in Rashford’s opening goal. He made a mistake because he did not follow Odegaard closely and let the midfielder score the equalizer for Arsenal.
Bruno Fernandes – 5/10 points
Fernandes is famous for taking risks to create opportunities, but against Arsenal, he played too safe.
Antony – 4/10 points
Antony could do almost nothing against Arsenal. It’s time for Ten Hag to let him sit out, and give Facundo Pellistri a chance.
Marcus Rashford – 8/10 points
Rashford is the Red Devils’ best attacking player. He scored a beautiful goal and showed his advantage on the left wing.
Anthony Martial – 4/10 points
A lackluster match for the French star. After more than an hour of play, Martial only launched a single shot, did not attempt to dribble past him and lost control 4 times.
Prep
Rasmus Hojlund – 7/10 points
Hojlund had an impressive debut.
Man United finally got the striker they wanted . In his short time on the field, Hojlund has demonstrated the speed and strength needed to become an excellent striker in the Premier League.
Harry Maguire – 5/10 points
This is the first appearance of the season for the English international. The midfielder showed a lack of confidence with a few failed passes.
Alejandro Garnacho – 7/10 points
A few inches took away Garnacho’s landmark goal. The young Argentinian talent probably regrets this.
Jonny Evans – 4/10 points
Evans’ return to Man United was ruined by two unfortunate goals conceded when he appeared.
