Cristiano Ronaldo marked his milestone 850th career goal in a commanding 5-1 victory for Al-Nassr over Al-Hazm in the Saudi Pro League this Saturday.
Ronaldo, who has scored six goals in his last three matches, also provided two assists, contributing to Al-Nassr’s third consecutive league win. Sadio Mane also added his name to the scoresheet.
Taking to social media, the 38-year-old Ronaldo expressed his satisfaction with the team’s performance, stating, “Another great team performance! We keep improving. Let’s go @AlNassrFC. 850 career goals and still counting!”
Following two initial losses this season, Al-Nassr, last year’s league runners-up, has surged in form, scoring a total of 14 goals in their past three matches. They are now just four points behind league leaders Al-Hilal.
Ronaldo leads the league in scoring this season with six goals, narrowly edging out former Liverpool forward Mane, who has five goals to his name.
Despite a sluggish start, Al-Nassr took the lead in the 33rd minute courtesy of Abdulrahman Ghareeb, with Abdullah Al-Khaibari adding a second just before halftime in the eighth minute of injury time.
However, Al-Hazm quickly responded as Muhammed Badamosi scored within two minutes of the second half’s commencement. Al-Nassr’s summer signing, Otavio, reestablished the two-goal lead just 10 minutes later.
The match’s excitement continued as Ronaldo reached his milestone goal in the 68th minute, followed by Mane’s contribution with a goal in the 78th minute.
