SEGIO REGUILON has successfully passed his physical examination at Manchester United and is now in line to replace Luke Shaw after the latter sustained an injury.
During the game against Tottenham Hotspur, which Shaw’s team lost 2-0, the defender sustained an injury to his thigh.
Luke Shaw could be out for the next ten weeks
It has been stated that Sergio Reguilon will be joining in order to give cover for the England international.
Since then, the injured defender has required the Red Devils to deploy Diogo Dalot at left back in order to compensate for his absence.
The team has been talked about replacing Shaw with a few different players while he is out with an injury.
The most important players to pursue were seen to be Tottenham’s Reguilon and Chelsea’s Marc Cucurella.
It has been reported by Fabrizio Romano that an agreement has been reached for Reguilon to spend the current season on loan with the club.
The transfer of Sergio Reguilón to Manchester United has been completed! A verbal agreement about a loan arrangement has been reached with Tottenham.
“Be aware that there are now medical examinations taking place!
There will be a condition that allows the loan contract to be terminated in January. Deal with Marc Cucurella has been called off.
.
According to The Athletic, Reguilon has successfully finished his medical examination at Old Trafford.
It is speculated that the agreement will include a “break clause” for the club that can be exercised whenever the club sees fit after the first of the year.
Since Shaw and Tyrell Malacia are both sidelined with injuries, it is reasonable to presume that the Spaniard will fill in for them while he is at the club.
Because of his current condition, there is a chance that Shaw will be out for up to ten weeks.
Malacia, who has been sidelined due to an injury that has kept him out since before the preseason began, is now still unable to participate in any of the preseason activities.
Reguilon, who is now 26 years old, signed with Tottenham in the year 2020; however, after falling further down the team’s pecking order, he spent the previous season on loan at Atletico Madrid.
The fact that he was only used 11 times by the team in LaLiga competition is evidence that the transfer was a failure.
Rico Henry, a star for Brentford, has been discussed in the past in connection with a transfer by United to alleviate their left-back problem. This transaction would involve United acquiring Henry.
