The Premier League winners and Wolves have agreed to a 47 million pound price tag for Matheus Nunes.
Man City finally agreed to the name that Pep Guardiola wanted to put to the Etihad Stadium after the initial offer was turned down.
When Matheus Nunes has successfully completed the medical examination process, he will formally dock at Etihad.
The Manchester group agreed to give Wolves a direct payment of £ 47 million, excluding fees.
Matheus Nunes “went on strike” and refused to train at Wolves in order to put pressure on him to move to Man City, which hastened the agreement.
In light of De Bruyne’s injury and impending 2023 absence, Pep Guardiola believes Nunes is the ideal addition to Man City’s midfield.
The Portuguese player’s strength is his capacity to pull the ball and avoid pressure. Nunes, who paid £38 million to join Wolves last summer, has also adapted well to the Premier League.
In part because “green” Man agreed to loan out promising talent Tommy Doyle to Molineux Stadium, Wolves agreed to sell Matheu Nunes.
For a cost of £ 5 million, they have the option to purchase Doyle outright the following year. If Wolves ever decide to sell Doyle, Man City will be given a provision that allows them to keep 50% of the transfer price.
