‘Unbelievable’ – Barcelona, Real Madrid could be expelled from UCL if Rubiales removed from RFEF presidency

The astonishing claim was made by the Spanish publication Onda Cero, which asserted that all Spanish teams, including Barcelona and Real Madrid, are in danger of being banned from the UEFA if Luis Rubiales is removed from the head of the organization.

On Friday of this week, the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) lodged an official complaint with UEFA about the interventionist policies of the Spanish government. This action came before the declaration made by FIFA that Rubiales would be suspended from his position as president of the RFEF.

The laws of UEFA state that the organization’s member associations “shall manage their affairs independently and without undue influence from third parties.” Any body or decision made by a body that has not been elected or appointed in line with the aforementioned procedure will not be recognized, even if it was done provisionally.

The aforementioned publication in the media was how Pedro Rocha, who is currently serving as interim president of the RFEF, found out about the incident on Monday. This revelation came as something of a surprise.

The general secretary is concerned about Rubiales’s welfare. The General Secretary of the RFEF, Andreu Camps, has sent a warning to the Government in front of UEFA in an effort to protect his superior, Rubiales.

Concerns have been raised over the potential repercussions that this situation may have for Spanish teams, which may be barred from participating in European competitions.

Camps lays the fault squarely at the feet of certain members of the Spanish government who have been vocal in their support for harsh measures, such as Rubiales’s resignation and possible disqualification from office.

As a result, Camps, who is a member of a faction that is loyal to Rubiales, has asked UEFA to step in and defend the RFEF president and the vice president of the top authority in European football.

Since Rubiales was elected president of the RFEF on May 17, 2018, there has been a string of issues that have cast a shadow over his tenure as president. Throughout these problems, Camps’ unshakable commitment to Rubiales and fierce defense of him have been noticeable traits.

His devotion has driven him to take a bold action, boldly denouncing the Spanish government and sparking a contentious discussion that has engulfed the entirety of the Spanish football community. He has done this out of fearlessness.
