Binance, the world’s leading cryptocurrency exchange, has recently employed an unconventional promotional tactic by challenging soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo to undergo a lie detector test.
Ronaldo described the lie detector challenge as one of the most difficult challenges he has ever faced. He shared this experience on his social media platforms, including Twitter, where he has 109 million followers. His post, along with a 19-second teaser video, has already garnered over five million views.
In the teaser video, Ronaldo was asked whether he would trade all of his Champions League-winning medals for a World Cup trophy. This question taps into a long-standing debate among sports fans about the relative value of these two prestigious honors in a player’s career.
It’s important to note that Ronaldo’s collaboration with Binance is not new. The partnership involves the development and release of various NFT (non-fungible token) collections and was initiated last year.
Ronaldo had previously taken to social media to announce the launch of his second NFT collection on the Binance platform.
A lie detector, also known as a polygraph, measures and records various physiological responses, including blood pressure, pulse, and skin conductivity, while a person answers a series of questions. The underlying hypothesis is that deceptive responses generate distinct physiological reactions that can be differentiated from those associated with truthful answers.
However, it’s worth mentioning that lie detectors are not universally regarded as reliable tools for determining the truth, and the results they produce are not always admissible in all legal proceedings.
