On his 35th birthday, Robert Lewandowski at the “Sport Bildu” gala in Hamburg received an award for one of the legends of the 60th anniversary of the Bundesliga. – What a special day it was! – wrote Lewandowski on Instagram. The legends of the German league with Thomas Mueller even sang to the Pole “Happy Birthday!” on the occasion of his holiday.

On August 21, 2023, Robert Lewandowski celebrated his 35th birthday. After Sunday’s victory over Cadiz (2-0), in which he scored an assist, Lewandowski went to Germany on Monday to take part in a gala organized by “Sport Bild”, summarizing the last season in Germany. This year, the gala coincided with the 60th anniversary of the Bundesliga.

“What a special day it was!” The Germans awarded Lewandowski on his 35th birthday

Robert Lewandowski received the award for one of the “Heroes of the 60th anniversary of the Bundesliga” at this ceremony. – What a special day it was! Today, on my 35th birthday, I had the pleasure of taking part in the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the Bundesliga, where I received an award for one of the “Heroes of the 60th anniversary of the Bundesliga,” Lewandowski wrote on Instagram.

– It is a great privilege to be among such legends as Wolfgang Overath, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, Matthias Sammer, Felix Magath, Lothar Matthaeus or Thomas Mueller, and to be the only foreigner in this group. Thank you very much for this award. Playing in the Bundesliga will always be a big part of my life. Thank you for all the birthday wishes, it was an unforgettable day.

Interestingly, while the awarded “Heroes of the 60th Anniversary of the Bundesliga” appeared on the stage, Thomas Mueller intoned Lewandowski “Happy Birthday!” on the occasion of his birthday.

At the gala, the best German player of the last season was Lewandowski’s new friend from FC Barcelona – Ilkay Gundogan. Werder Bremen’s Niclas Fuellkrug was recognized as the discovery of the year, while the special award of the editor-in-chief of “Sport Bild” was given to Borussia Dortmund striker Sebastien Haller, who returned to the game last season after recovering from testicular cancer.

Robert Lewandowski was asked at the gala about his successor at Bayern Munich – Englishman Harry Kane. Harry Kane is a super striker. This is a big transfer not only for Bayern, but also for the entire Bundesliga. He will certainly bring a lot to Bayern, but you have to remember that the Bundesliga is not an easy league at all.
