‘Patience is key’ – Pedri, Gundogan, ter Stegen react after Barcelona 2-0 Cadiz

Barcelona defeated Cadiz by a score of 2-0 on Sunday to earn their first La Liga victory of the 2023–24 season.

The Catalans initially struggled to penetrate the defense of the enemy, but two goals in stoppage time from Pedri and Ferran Torres gave the home team three points.

Goal scorer Pedri praised Ilkay Gundogan for his outstanding effort that night in a post-game interview. “Gündogan is a top-quality player, and he showed it today,” he remarked.

In fact, Gundogan was among Barcelona’s best players in their victory over Cadiz. The midfielder not only provided an assist but also had excellent game control and a particularly strong connection with Pedri.

After the game, Gundogan sent a message on social media in which he made the point that Barcelona should exercise patience for the full 90 minutes.

Marc-Andre ter Stegen, another German who excelled on the evening, made a few significant saves. Despite being pleased with the victory, the goalkeeper again criticized the inconsistent refereeing.

“This victory boosts our confidence greatly. At home, we get off to a good start, he remarked. “Many of the cards are illogical. You must always be able to speak with the referee.

The Canary Islands native Pedri, meantime, expressed his sympathy to the people affected by the recent wildfire that has resulted in over 12,000 evacuations.

“Everyone in Tenerife deserves the strength I’m giving to the Canary Islands, which are going through a difficult moment. He said, “I hope they can get through this.
