Summer work with Anthony Davis
Philadelphia 76ers player James Harden has considered playing professionally in China in the days since he dubbed general manager Daryl Morey a “liar” and swore to “never” be a member of a club that Morey was on.
Says he, “Every time I come here, the love is just like… it’s crаzy, you know what I meаn?” According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, Harden made the remark while visiting the country recently. They should have me play here because they deserve it. Here, love is always a whirlwind.
Harden was in China for promotional and fan events, including one for Adidas, when he made his remarks against Morey.
Harden made his remarks about Morey after ESPN reported that the 76ers had halted all trade discussions involving him and were eager to have him return. Harden chose to enter the final year of his $35.6 million contract in June, anticipating that the Sixers would try to trade him.The Sixers informed Harden’s agent, Mike Silverman, over the weekend that Morey had been unable to find a workable deal and that the team was not required to trade him until it could find a package that would increase their chances of contending, according to a source who spoke to The Associated Press. The negotiations were confidential, so the person spoke to the AP anonymously.
Later this month, Harden will be 34. This season, he averaged 21 points, 10.7 assists, and 6.1 rebounds while shooting 44.1% from the field and 38.5% from beyond the arc. He currently has the same number of points as he did in 2021–22, which is his lowest total since 2011–12.It’s plausible that Harden is influencing Morey in some way. In October 2019, Daryl Morey, the former general manager of the Houston Rockets, posted on social media to show his support for the protesters in Hong Kong who were opposed to a law that would permit the extradition of wanted criminals from Hong Kong to mainland China.
Attempt to be independent. “Stand with Hong Kong,” was the sign’s last words before being covered up.
China’s government replied to the statement by outlawing the broadcast of NBA and Rockets games there, costing the league hundreds of millions of dollars.
Who among NBA players has defended Daryl Morey following James Harden’s criticism of him?On Monday, Kyrie Irving, a current member of the Dallas Mavericks and a former teammate of Harden’s, responded to a story that ESPN insider Adrian Wojnarowski tweeted that included Harden’s remarks about Morey.
Is he now Adrian the Furious? Irving, a writer. Then, the question arises, “Or is he holding Darryl (sic) Morey accountable for his dishonesty and lack of transparency throughout the contract negotiation process this summer?”On Instagram, P.J. Tucker, a current 76ers player, backed Harden by writing, “I’m not acrobatic, I’m not flippin’ on my bros.”
When Harden featured on Gilbert Arenas’ podcast “Gil’s Show,” Andre Iguodala, a former guard, concurred, noting that Harden was using leverage wisely.Iguodala said in the podcast, “Know what your value (is) and how you can leverage yourself when you go into a contract negotiation.” “Be conscious of the opportunities and safety net on the other side. What precisely is the buffer zone for James? Daryl Morey is not afraid to say whatever he wants because of his previous dealings with the Chinese government. James made a wise choice in lowering his leverage as a result. First of all, it will be challenging to correct James since what has he done wrong? James is reportedly selling some shoes, too. After all, that is the major reason he is there.
