‘I don’t want to leave’ – Lionel Messi first spoke out about leaving Barcelona after joining Inter Miami

In a recent press conference, Lionel Messi disclosed that he made the unplanned switch from PSG to Inter Miami this summer. He also discussed his reason to make the switch.

“I never intended to sign with PSG. I was reluctant to depart from Barcelona. “I made the decision quickly,” Messi stated.

The Argentine went on to say that going from Barcelona to Paris was challenging, but that the move from Paris to Miami was different. I’m content.


Messi continued by outlining the reasons behind his decision to sign with Inter Miami. I just want to play football, so coming here was a family decision,” he declared.

“I made this decision for that reason, and I’m glad I did. Not just for athletics, but also for daily life in Miami, he continued.

Messi continued, “I’ve already accomplished everything in football; for now, I’m simply living in the moment. “I chose to come here to continue enjoying football,”

Messi has had a fantastic start to life in Major League Soccer following his surprising move to Miami. In six Leagues Cup games, he has scored nine goals.

“Winning the Leagues Cup would be nice,” stated Messi, who added how crucial it would be for him to win the 2022 FIFA World Cup in December.

His statement, “Winning the World Cup was my biggest dream,” “I won the World Cup, which was the most significant thing in my career… After that, I don’t care about anything.

Many people think Messi is among the strongest candidates to win the 2017 Ballon d’Or as a result of his outstanding achievements in the World Cup.

But Messi is unconcerned with taking home the Ballon d’Or. “On a personal level, it’s the biggest accolade, but I don’t care. The group’s accomplishment is what matters, he remarked.

“Great if I take home the Ballon d’Or. Otherwise, no problem. I favor group achievement, he continued.

The Argentine was then questioned over his recent Marvel celebrations following goals scored for Inter Miami.

“Since my kids are still on vacation and haven’t started school yet, we watch Marvel movies every night. They are the ones who had the original thought. After scoring goals, they want me to celebrate like a superhero, Messi said.
