Liverpool have only played their first Premier League game this season, but one Liverpool fan believes it’s time for manager Jurgen Klopp to leave.
A fan named Paul made his request to talkSPORT after watching Liverpool draw 1-1 with Chelsea on Sunday (August 13). This fan believes that the German coach has made “several mistakes” in recent weeks.
He criticized Klopp for his decision to sell Jordan Henderson, appointing a player as incapable of leadership as Virgil van Dijk or being too hesitant in pursuing Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia. Paul also said that Klopp will have to leave by Christmas.
“I think Klopp has to go. He helped the team win the Champions League and the Premier League. But he has been here for too long and seems to have run out of ideas. Is it okay to compromise with Klopp for too long? right or not?”.
“Klopp has made some mistakes recently,” he added. “He shouldn’t have let Henderson go so quickly. The team needs a leader. Van Dijk is not a leader. In my opinion, he has no leadership qualities.”
“It seems that Klopp is also too hesitant with Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia. Liverpool need five new players. They need a real defense and they don’t have a real striker. Mac Allister is fine. But in my opinion, Klopp will be gone by Christmas.”
Taking charge of Liverpool since October 2015, after 434 games in charge, Klopp helped the team win 260 wins, 99 draws and 75 defeats. Klopp’s win rate is 59.9%.
With The Kop, the German strategist won 1 Premier League, 1 Champions League, 1 FA Cup, 1 League Cup, 1 English Super Cup, 1 European Super Cup and 1 FIFA Club World Cup.
