Quoting from the Daily Mail, Rodri asserted about the risk of being exhausted from constantly plowing for Manchester City.
Rodri made 56 appearances for Manchester City as he missed just five games last season.
Rodri played more than anyone else in Pep Guardiola’s squad with a total of 4465 minutes. Erling Haaland is the person closest to that achievement at Man City. He played 349 minutes less than Rodri, equivalent to nearly 4 matches.
Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes is the only player in the Premier League to have played more than the former Atletico Madrid player. The Portuguese star played more than 5,000 minutes in all competitions.
The constant plowing problem made Rodri worried about his physical condition. Like Kevin de Bruyne, the Spanish midfielder is even more concerned about this because the injury time per game next season will be more than before:
“I don’t remember exactly the games I played, but I think I have to talk with the club & Pep, because starting 57-59 games and playing 60-something in general is not healthy.
“You can do it one season, but two or three in a row it could be worse for the team, so we have to watch out for these kinds of things. It cannot be like this.”
