Arsenal are closing in on the summer signing of Brentford goalkeeper David Raya, talkSPORT understands.
The Spaniard will compete with Aaron Ramsdale to be the Gunners’ first-choice keeper should a move be completed.
Raya has made 161 competitive appearances for Brentford, with 62 of those coming in the Premier League.
He played all 38 of their top flight matches last season which saw the Bees finish ninth.
However, he now looks set to swap west London for the north side of the capital as Arsenal approach their fourth summer signing. Raya would follow Kai Havertz, Jurrien Timber and Declan Rice as new arrivals at the Emirates Stadium.
Meanwhile, Ramsdale’s understudy Matt Turner will depart the Gunners and is having a medical with Nottingham Forest.
The 29-year-old made seven appearances last season, all of which came in the Europa League and FA Cup.
He was named on the bench for Arsenal’s Community Shield win over Manchester City on Sunday.
Turner will soon be goalkeeping at Forest though, with Steve Cooper’s side entering their second season back in the Premier League.
Keylor Navas was their no.1 choice in between the sticks during the end of the previous campaign after Dean Henderson’s injury.
However, he has returned to Paris Saint-Germain this summer following the end of his loan spell.
